Referring estate planning work
You may be wondering whether we compete with you. On the work you do, we don't — and this page sets out exactly where the line sits, what happens to your client, and what you'll hear back.
Why refer here
TEP-led governance
Everything we produce is built on a framework set and audited by a technical team led by a full TEP. The standard is the practice's, not an individual's — so what your client gets doesn't depend on who picked up the file.
Trust bank accounts
High street banks have largely withdrawn from small and personal trust accounts, and trustees regularly find they hold a properly constituted trust with nowhere to bank it. A trust that can't hold money can't function. We get them banked.
The specialist work
Business relief after the 2026 reforms, family pension structures, corporate trustees, cryptoassets, UK tax on internationally exposed estates. Work a generalist practice can do occasionally but can't maintain.
UK-wide coverage
England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with jurisdiction-specific drafting rather than a find-and-replace. Delivered digitally wherever your client is.
The client is handed back
We do the estate planning and return them to you. No cross-selling into your work, no attempt to become their principal adviser.
One adviser, named
Your client deals with one person who knows their file, not a call centre or a rotating team. You can meet them before you refer anyone.
What we don't do
Not a limitation — a commitment. These are yours, and we don't drift into them.
The reciprocal register
When a client of ours needs work we don't do, we log where it went. That makes the commitment above demonstrable rather than merely stated, and it means referrals run in both directions. Advisers on the register are asked once a year whether they still want to be, and can come off it at any time.
How it works
You refer
Form below, an email, or a call. Whatever suits — no portal to log into.
We make contact
Within one working day, and we tell you when we have.
Report and proposal
Your client gets a Clarity Report and, if they want to go further, a written fixed-fee proposal.
Handed back
Work completed, outcome confirmed to you, client returned to you.
You will hear back
Three times, without having to ask.
- 1Acknowledgement, within one working day.
- 2Confirmation once we've made contact with your client.
- 3Confirmation of the outcome, whether or not they proceed.
Commercial terms
We operate a pay-away scheme on completed work, at [X]% of the fee, paid on settlement. You're under no obligation to take it, and a number of advisers on the register don't.
If you do, you'll need to disclose it to your client. We provide wording you can use, drafted to satisfy the usual regulatory requirements — amend it as your own compliance function requires.
Make a referral
Or just call us and talk it through first — most advisers do that once and then use the form from then on.
